Colt Single Action Army revolver in .45 long Colt caliber, 4 ¾” barrel, shipped soft for engraving to Hartley and Graham, New York, New York, January 15, 1884 with 25 guns in shipment with rubber grips, serial number105790. This revolver shows an old re-nickeled finish with carved pearl grips showing a red faux Ruby inlaid on right grip beneath steer head. This revolver retains 95% to 98% of this re-nickeled finish and thefront sight shows some reshaping along with some polishing which is mainly evident on the edges of the cylinder. The hammer has been replaced with a later type hammer. The two line barrel address and 3 line patentmarkings along with caliber marking are all very legible. The grips are a close fit but show some large chips on the right grip and heel of left grip. The engraving is very nicely done and shows a wolf head beneath the hammer screw. Typical scroll of Nimschke or the other Germanic engravers who worked for and through Hartley and Graham. The action is good, the Bore is very good.
