Colt Single Action Army revolver in .38 special caliber with 7 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, pearl grips, with fancy tooled and silver inlaid holster showing an engraved Sheriff’s type badge which is inscribed “To Sheriff Bob Hope from San Mateo County Sheriff’s Association, 1963”. The holster is marked “Olson-Nolte makers San Francisco, California”. The single action is a second-generation number 24565 SA. The pistol remains in fine to near excellent conditionshowing 97% to 99% original blue and case hardening with some slight handling at the edges from being holstered but no evidence of firing or use and very near new. It may be possible to research from magazine articles or newspapers thedate of this presentation by this Sheriff’s Association which we believe may still exist. Also a factory letter may prove interesting. A certificate of authenticity stating that this exact pistol is from the estate of legendaryperformer Bob Hope is also included.
