Colt Single Action Army revolver in .32-20 caliber with 7 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, hard rubber grips, serial number 247810 remaining in very good plus original condition with period double loop holster and .32-20 cartridge belt. This single action shows 85% to 95% original bright blue on barrel with some slight wear at the edges and reshaping of the front sight for more accurate shooting. The ejector rod housing shows about 50% blue mostly in the groove. The frame shows 40% to 60% case hardening with some light rainbow colors. The cylinder shows about 20% blue mostly in the flutes and protected areas. The back strap and trigger guard show 10% to 20% blue also where protected. The grips fit impeccably and are evenly worn at the high points and edges from being carried. All matching visible serial numbers and good markings. Good action, bright bore with strong case hardening on the hammer. The double loop holster shows a piecrust carving on the edge and a good color and is marked Heiser-Denver which is an early style marking. The belt is a hardware store type probably ordered from a catalog and shows impressed decoration with a harness type nickel plated brass buckle. A very attractive rig that has been together a long while. Factory letter confirms all features except grips not listed and shipped to Montgomery Ward, Chicago,IL, August 27th 1903 with 5 guns in shipment. Gale Kennedy Historical West Collection.
