Colt Single Action Army revolver , artillery series, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, cartouched wood grips. Frame and cylinder in late 7th Cavalry range. Frame serial #9885, cylinder #7714. Therevolver remains in good to very good condition showing 40-60% evenly thinning and toning blue finish. Some erosion and pinprick pitting drifting to a brownish patina. Good markings, good edges, good overall. A fainttrace of cartouche on left grip. Triggerguard is numbered 48962 with “HN” inspection, backstrap number not quite visible but appears to be 4_576 with “HN” inspection. Barrel shows “P” proof.
