Colt Single Action Army revolver army revolver, .44-40 caliber, 4-3/4” barrel, factory engraved, silver plated, pearl grips, shipped to J. F. Schmelzer & Sons, Kansas City, KS, November 28th, 1983, two guns inshipment. Serial #151194. Factory letter confirms all features except originally shipped nickel. The revolver now shows old thick silver replating which has tarnished and approx. 95% of this thick silver remainsand is aging nicely with a bluish patina. The original to the period pearl grips show some small losses at the edges, normal aging and wear from carry and are generally good. All matching visible serial numbers. The frontsight has been slimmed slightly. The action is good, bore fair to good. The engraving, Colt Frontier Six Shooter barrel marking, patent dates, and barrel address are all legible and only slightly lightened whenrefinished. There are a few small areas of pitting coming up through the plating that are minor. It is our opinion that this revolver was replated shortly after the turn of the century.
