Colt Single Action Army revolver, US Cavalry series, .45 caliber, 7-1/2” barrel, grey patina finish, no grips. In prime Custer range, serial #6269. Pictured page 286 and 287, Colt Cavalry and Artillery Models byKopec and Fenn. This exact revolver by serial number was found by a Canadian ranger in lower center Saskatchewan in 1959, in a camp occupied by Sitting Bull and the Sioux Warriors after they had fled to Canadafollowing the battle of The Little Big Horn in 1876/77. The text recants the finding of the pistol and the relic revolver was registered with the RCMP in December of 1959. The revolver remained in Canada until 1989and was subsequently obtained by Dr. Sterling Fenn. The camp sight was on the buffalo plains, 35 miles North of the US/Canadian border, which was an area designated by Canadian Government for use by Sitting Bulland the Sioux. Major James Walsh, who was responsible for controlling the Sioux in Canada reported seeing many captured U.S. Cavalry arms in the Sioux camp. The two pages in this text describe and illustrate the
