Colt Single Action Army revolver, U.S. military issue in Custer range, frame number 5288 in lot 5 of Custer associated Colts. Refer "Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers, A Continuing Study" by Kopec and Fenn, page261. The revolver shows serial #115767G with G in sub-inspection on trigger guard, 132625 on backstrap, no number on cylinder, showing RAC on back indicating arsenal replacement at time of reissue and shortening of thebarrel to 5-1/2". The barrel shows a block letter address RAC and P inspections with military ejector rod housing, rod and spring (the barrel also likely replaced when returned to arsenal). The grips show RACcartouche and 1902 date on right side with small RAC stamps on the bottom of each grip. The barrel and cylinder show 60-80% toning blue finish with some light erosion and pinprick pitting, some slight scratching,minor storage marks. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening drifting to a smoky gray with some colors still showing. The backstrap and trigger guard show 10-20% blue going to patina; the grips are good with some dings,
