Colt Single Action Army revolver, U.S. cavalry series, .45 caliber, 7-1/2” barrel, cartouche wood grips, blue and case hardened finish, serial #119069. The revolver remains in very good plus original condition showing20-40% original blue and case hardening. Some light cleaning long ago, now drifting back to natural patina. Some scattered light erosion, pinprick pitting on the edges and muzzle and firing areas, but generally verycrisp overall with good case hardening and bright blue just showing. The front sight has been reduced just slightly, markings are sharp, edges are crisp. The original grips have been cleaned lightly and show traces ofinspections on both sides with some small nicks and a couple small losses at the toes. All correct markings and serial numbers. Mainspring is an old replacement. The bore is fair to good with some slight roughness. Anappraisal letter from John Kopec to legendary Charles E. DuPont identifies the revolver as one made in 1887 and was probably issued to a cavalry unit or state militia. Mr. Kopec mentions the replacement mainspring,
