Colt Single Action Army revolver, .45 caliber, barrel shortened to 5-1/8” during period of use, renickeled finish, one-piece ivory grips, serial #19977. Made approx. 1874/75. This old frontier shows an oldrenickel of which approx. 95% remains. The edges were buffed hard and only edge of patent date visible. The barrel shows original script address with small replacement front sight. The triggerguard and backstrap show a couple of numbers that match the frame, the remainder of the numbers are polished away. The grips are very old and have been skinned, probably at the time of refinishing and do not fit perfectly, mayhave been from another Colt. Several small parts and ejector rod head are replacements. The action is working, bore rough. An early Colt that was probably renickeled somewhere after the turn of the century when no onethrew a good single action away, they simply redid them. Est: $1,000 - $2,000
