Colt Single Action Army revolver, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, hard-rubber grips, factory engraved, W. F. & Co on the butt, shipped to Wells Fargo Co, New York New York, for W. M.Ashton, January 16th, 1907, 24 guns in shipment, serial #287584, with all features verified by factory letter except grips not listed. The pistol is accompanied by an original Railway Express Agency markedflap-holster for .45 single action, with period cartridge belt, the holster is marked “Jos. Canter, maker, Chicago” also marked “Cal. 45, Made in USA” on front. The loops of the cartridge belt are .45 caliber with asquare harness-type buckle that is nickel plated and matches the holster well. The pistol remains in original good to very good condition showing 20-30% original blue and case hardening drifting to patina with somescattered light erosion, pinprick pitting, and some very bright finish in protected areas. The front sight has been slimmed just a little, the markings are sharp, the grips show some edge-wear but fit impeccably but
