Colt Single Action Army revolver,. 45 cal., 7-1/2" barrel, broad scroll engraved, nickel and gold plated, carved ivory grips showing Mexican snake and eagle on left, serial #243072. There is a stylized signature onthe butt encircling the serial number. The engraving is well cut and somewhat deep; the metal surfaces have been heavily polished and refinished. The left grip is well carved with a snake and eagle and the grips showpatina and cracking. The action is good, the bore is good, the front sight slimmed down. The engraving and carving is similar to that done by Willie Aguao, who worked for Robert Elz in the '50s through the '70s and movedback to Texas in the late 1970s, where he worked for another decade. This pistol is the style of work he did in the 1950s and 1960s before he perfected his Nimschke style. Est.: $2,500-$5,000
