Colt Single Action Army revolver .45 Colt caliber, 4 ¾” barrel, finely Oakleaf scroll engraved in classic German style signed Kurt Jaeger – Mainz. Serial number 34262 SA .This mid-1950s single action shows the signatureof one of the best recognized master gun makers in Germany at this time. Gen. Curtis LeMay was an investor along with several other Air Force officers in the Jaeger gun making and engraving firm. The top of theback strap shows fancy initials G.M. G. The pistol is European rust blued with engraving polished to a satin color to highlight the workmanship. The engraving is also silver inlaid in flush line borders. The pistol ismounted with well made custom ivory grips that fit impeccably. The hammer and trigger are engine turned or jeweled. The action is good and the bore is excellent. The pistol remains in excellent condition as restored at time of engraving. Est.: $2,750-$5,500.
