Colt Single Action Army revolver, .44-40 caliber, 4-3/4” barrel, factory nickel finish, ivory grips, shipped to Kennedy Bros., Minneapolis, MN, May 11th 1886, two guns in shipment, with all features featuredby factory letter, serial #110274, two guns in shipment, Backstrap period inscribed. “C. E. Hamblen.” The pistol remains in very good plus to near fine original condition with approx. 80-90% original nickel finish, somepeeling and loss of finish at muzzle, and firing areas, edges of frame, front of cylinder, and a few places on the cylinder. The original etched panel is frosty and almost 100% intact. The front sight is nearly its full height. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp, the small parts and screws show considerable original fire blue. The ivory grips fit impeccably and show proper escutcheons and blue on screw with justslight aging and a great patina. All matching serial numbers and correct .44 markings on triggerguard and barrel, tight action, fine bore. C. E. Hamblen was Charles E. Hamblen born in Mass. In 1840. He was a Civil War
