Colt Single Action Army revolver .38 special caliber with 5 ½” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, stag grips, serial number 325440. Factory letter indicates originally shipped as .32-20 caliber with a 4 ½” barreland blue finish, sold to Biddle P. Company shipped to Anaconda Copper Mine Company, Butte, Montana, October 12, 1910, 3 guns in shipment. This Colt revolver was returned to the factory shortly after World War II andshows the side barrel address and postwar cylinder. Approximately 90% to 95% of what appears to be a factory refinish is retained and the hammer is also post war style. The markings are good, the action is good, andthe bore is fine to excellent. The frame, trigger guard, and back strap numbers are all matching. A classic Western-style holster with nickel plated brass studs is also included. Seldom are single actions foundwith Montana mining history documented by factory letter. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
