Colt Single Action Army revolver 2nd generation, factory nickel plated with .45 caliber, 5 ½” barrel replaced smooth wood grips, serial number 15939SA shipped in 1957 to Frontier Gun Shop Las Vegas Nevada and used by music legend and personality Sammy Davis Jr. Sammy used this pistol in shows and performances of fast draw. This revolver shows 95% original factory nickel finish with some holstering and a lot of handling. There is a drag line between the cylinder stops in the nickel. Included is a deluxe fast draw holster and belt marked by Arvo Ojala of Hollywood. Included is a photograph of Sammy as he appeared in “The Rifleman” with Chuck Connors. Factory letter confirms nickel finish, barrel length and shipped October 31st 1957 to Frontier Gun Shop. A signed letter of provenance from Jeffery S. Miles attorney at law confirms ownership by Davis and the fact that William Miles, father of Jeffery Miles, was a close associate of Sammy Davis and acquired the rights to produce his biography, ”Yes I Can.” It further states that this Colt and holster rig were gifted to William Miles. Jeffery Miles transfers ownership in this letter to our consignor. The holster is authenticated by Herb Jefferies close friend and associate of Sammy Davis who was also taught to fast draw by Arvo Ojala.
