Colt Single Action Army revolver, 2nd generation, .45 caliber, 4-3/4” barrel, factory nickel plated, with later hard rubber eagle grips. Serial #35414. Consignor’s tag states shipped December 6th, 1961. 1 of 1. To Arvo Ojala. The revolver retains 98% plus original nickel showing some firing and use, slight index line on cylinder. Interior shows firing with blanks. Arvo Ojala was a Hollywood personality who appeared in manyWestern films and was taught the biggest Western stars how to handle, shoot, and fastdraw firearms. He designed his own fast-draw holsters and his biggest claim to fame was as the ‘loser’ in gun fight withMatt Dillon in the opening scene of Gunsmoke. He presented Ronald Reagan a pair of Colt single actions and knew virtually every Western star in Hollywood during the epic cowboy era. This pistol as obtained bySterling Fenn from Ojala.
