Colt Single Action Army U.S. marked Calvary series revolver in Custer serial number range, .45 cal., 7-1/2" barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, serial #5337 with full Ainsworth inspections. The table on page 260 puts this single action in the range issued to Company M, 7th Cavalryunder Reno's command. The revolver remains in good to very good condition with a pleasing uncleaned patina finish, 10%+ original blue with some faint evidence of case hardening, good sharp italic addresswith no breaks; good U.S. and patent markings and proper Ainsworth inspections and matching numbers except cylinder which is numbered 4870, Ainsworth inspected with P proof and in Custer range also, in Company Lcommanded by Custer according to graph and also in lot 5. The cylinder condition and aging matches perfectly and was probably soldier or armor switched within the 7th Cavalry. The grips are very good+ with
