Colt Single Action Army Revolver, U.S. Artillery variation, 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case-hardened finish, cartouche wood grips. Frame #91907. The revolver shows a JTC-inspected military barrel, an early type ejector rod housing, barrel serial #2305. Correct brass spring and early bulls-eye ejector rod head. Cylinder shows DFC-inspections. Also “P” and “4803”. Frame shows DFC-inspection. Trigger guard is #96248 with “G” sub inspection. Backstrap #41842. The wood grips show traces of cartouches on both sides and feint inspector’s initials in bottom left grip. The revolver remains in good to very good untouched original condition showing 50-70% blue on barrel, good barrel address, correct polish lines, front sight slimmed slightly. The ejector rod housing shows 30-50% blue in the groove, the cylinder shows considerable blue in the flutes. The frame shows 30-50% case hardening within a natural patina. The backstrap and trigger guard show 30-50% toning original blue finish. The grips are good to very good with aforementioned barely visible outlines of cartouches, wear at the edges, small chips at the bottom, normal aging and wear.
