caliber with 5 ½” barrel, nickel plated with fire blue screws and small parts, S/N 219500 showing finely and fully Helfricht style engraving in “C” plus pattern with high relief carved steerhead ivory grips. Signed “Ben Lane Jr, 1 of 2, 1991” and restored by Lane at time of engraving. Ben Lane in our opinion best emulates the style of classic engravers such as Helfricht and Nimschke. Ben is a personal friend and longtime member of Texas Gun Collectors and Colt Collectors Association. He has engraved Colts for the top collectors in the world and has just retired after a 40 plus year stellar career. His wife is a superb ivory carver. To replace this Colt at Ben’s last custom order rate would exceed 10000 depending on the cost of a sharp 1st gen. single action. A GEM! (See pair to this revolver at lot 185). Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
