Colt SAA revolver with martial Henry Nettleton inspection initials and proof marks but with a commercial three-line address frame, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, period ivory grips, #50011. This gunis in overall good to very good condition showing scattered nickel finish in protected areas with balance gone to a grey patina with scattered pin prick pitting, particularly around firing areas and some spots oferosion; good bore, action and markings; grips are beautifully aged with some edge losses to the right rear grip area; “HN” stamped on underside of barrel, frame, trigger guard, top of backstrap and cylinder; “P” proof on barrel and cylinder; an overall very nice uncleaned blackpowder SAA with copy of a factory letter indicating initial delivery to the U.S. Government at the Colt plant on August 24, 1878, 200 guns inshipment.
