Colt SAA revolver, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, nickel finish, wood grips, #39393. This gun is in overall very good condition showing traces of old nickel finish in protected areas of barrel, frame and cylinder withbalance gone to a dark patina with some scattered spots of erosion and pin prick pitting, mostly at firing areas; crisp action, very good markings and bore; grips are overall good with even wear and some oldlosses at front toes; accompanied by Colt factory letter indicating shipment to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, NY, NY on September 23, 1878, 50 guns in shipment and confirming caliber with barrel length andgrips not listed by noted this usually means 7-1/2” barrel and wood grips. The finish is noted as blue; likely S, H & G period nickeled the gun at the time of sale. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
