Colt SAA revolver, .44CF cal., barrel reduced to 4-1/4” and ejector assembly removed, nickel finish, wood grips, #71831. This gun is in overall fair to good condition showing approx. 20% nickel finish with balance goneto a dark patina with scattered areas of erosion and pinprick pitting with heavier pitting at firing areas; fair action, fair to good bore, worn but overall good grips. The butt strap displays the hand inscribed name“L.H. Hearse” and on the backstrap appears another hand inscription that is very worn but appears to be “A.C. Hughes”; would be interesting to further research this gun and its inscriptions. Est.: $750-$1,500.
