Colt SAA revolver, .44 Russian and S&W Special cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, raised carved steerhead ivory grips, #354364 with factory letter indicating sale to Bolles Brendamour Co.,Cincinnati, Ohio, shipped to Kruse Hardware Co., Cincinnati, Ohio on July 7, 1931 to Colt factory order #102280/1, one gun in shipment with remarks indicating subject revolver returned to factory on August 24, 1931 andsubsequently shipped to H & D Folsom Arms Co. in New York on December 9, 1931. Additionally, accompanying this lot is a notarized letter dated August 23, 2003, from Adam K. Riggs, Jr. indicating he is thegrandson of Frank C. Hoppe, founder of Hoppe’s #9 gun solvent and cleaning kits and that this gun was made specifically for Frank C. Hoppe by Frank’s wife, Ruth as a Christmas gift in 1931. Further, that the gun passed to Adam’s mother from Frank and then to him.
