Colt SAA black powder revolver, .45 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #61552 in overall very good condition showing an even dark patina on metal surfaces, very good bore, crisp action, all matching visible numbers, good markings, verygood grips with “T” carved into butt of right side grip; accompanied by a tooled leather holster, framed copy of an old photo and personal effects of W.H. Pearce, Indian Wars period Texas Ranger . The ephemera was obtained from family members inBroadview, New Mexico – his gun was gifted to the Clovis Museum where it now resides. The photo is of Pearce and his family; the other material accompanying this lot includes a handwritten list of family members and the notation that W. H.Pearce was born Feb. 16, 1844 and died Dec. 15, 1926; a General Land Office document dated Jan. 13, 1899, certifying Mr. Pearce filed proof of three consecutive years occupancy on 160 acres in Hale Co., Texas; a 1909 Hale County Poll Taxexemption, a number of Treasury Dept. postcards of various early 20th Century dates showing receipt of tax monies; a W.H.
