Colt SAA U.S. Artillery Model revolver, .45 cal., 5-1/2" barrel, blue finish, wood grips, frame #5413, other numbers mixed as is common with arsenal re-furbished Artillery Models. This gun is in overall very goodcondition showing strong remnants of arsenal re-blue on frame which is in the Custer-range of U.S. Single Actions with serial #5416 being listed in Kopec and Fenn's "Colt Cavalry & Artillery revolvers . . . aContinuing Study", page 280, Table II-XI as having a presumptive Pine Ridge Sioux Reservation Indian use history; cylinder shows traces of re-blue in protected areas with what appears to be traces of #931between two of the cylinder stops, a "J" inspectors initial between two other stops and also the initials o, s and k on the back of the cylinder ; barrel has a brown patina with scattered pitting and traces of re-bluein protected areas, has a very good bore, is numbered 8949 with H.N. inspection, P proof near the breech and C, G and N markings near the ejector rod retaining screw bolster near the muzzle; the ejector rod housing shows
