DA 4" barrel revolver, fully and finely gold Damascened, with original presentation inscribed pearl grips; showing VH at top and in block letters "Pres.V.Huerta Fr Amb H.L. Wilson",indicating presentation from U. S. Ambassador to President Huerta of Mexico, serial #52393. Formerly David S. Woloch collection, and listed at lot number 51 of the Benefit Auction for the Metropolitan Museum of Art(Arms and Armor Department), September 30, 1981, where purchased by Bill Ruger, noted manufacturer and arms collector who paid $18,000 for it. Also pictured in the book "Colt Engraving", by R. L. Wilson, fullcolor, page 335. The high quality Damascus gold work was accomplished in Spain and this work was always very popular in Mexico, who had a kinship to Spain particularly in the decorative arts field.
