Colt New Service Model 1917 DA U.S. Property marked revolver that is also stamped on the left side of the frame “USMC PROPERTY”.45 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, parkerized finish, butt strap marked U.S. Army Model 1917 No. 6988with lanyard ring, wood grips, #159558. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition showing the majority of its military re-finish, fine bore, action is sluggish from old grease that will easily free up with acareful cleaning; good grips; additional USMC markings appear correct; gun should be further researched; from an old collection.
