Colt New Blackpowder Series 1851 Navy 2nd model squareback, .36 caliber percussion, finely factory engraved and cold inlaid, blue and case hardened finish, serial #24687 in presentation display case. With accessories.The Navy shows 99% plus original blue and case hardening, only slight handling and minor index line on cylinder. No evidence of firing or use. The engraving is copied from the original style showing borders, wolf-head on hammer, and other 19th century motifs. There is a gold inlaid Rampant Colt on the face of the left barrel lug and a thick gold band around the muzzle. The brass straps are gold plated. The case is in fine conditionwith just some minor storage marks. A very attractive rare, and desirable Colt Custom Workshop project, completed in 1976.Dr. Sterling Fenn collection.
