Colt Model 1911 commercial .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol remaining in near mint condition retaining original cardboard box with tag and brochures, serial number C21629 with factory letter confirming features and shipped to K. Tulejian, October 6, 1915 with 2 guns in shipment. This exact Colt is pictured in an advertisement of “Colt Automatic Pistols 1905 to 1941 authored by Doug Shelden and used as advertisement for the book. The pistol shows 99% to nearly 100% original bright blue with almost no evidence of handling or wear even under close inspection. The straps high point edges show no evidence of being cycled or handled and this Colt is 100% original and retains a correct two tone magazine with lanyard that is also near perfect. The box contains hanging tag, instructions, manual along with wax paper. The box shows proper early end labels and correct serial number with just slight aging. An absolute 10 on a 1 to 10 scale and in 44+ years of selling fine Collectors Colts we have never examined a better early commercial 1911 even in the Colt or Phil Phillips Collections.
