Colt Model 1878 double action frontier revolver in .45 long colt caliber, 7 ½” barrel, blue finish, hard rubber grips, shipped to Hibbard, Spencer and Bartlett, Chicago, Illinois on August 6, 1895 2 guns in shipment serial number 34634 with factory letter. This Colt remains in original good to very good condition showing 40% to 60% original blue mixing in with a browning patina. There is some scattered light tomoderate erosion and pinprick pitting. The markings are fairly sharp and all visible. The front sight is in its full original dimensions. The hard rubber grips fit well and are good other than one large chip fromrear of right grip. The action works well and the bore is at least very good and still bright. A strong 7 ½ on 1 to 10 scale. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
