Colt Model 1878 DA Frontier revolver, .38-40 cal., barrel reduced to 5-1/2", nickel plated, hard rubber grips, serial #27392. The revolver shows approximately 40-60% original nickel which is drifting and peeling and areas where metal is exposed have gone to a dark patina with some light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. The front sight has been reduced about half way, the markings are good, there is some marks on the edges of the cylinder. The grips are worn at the edges and show 2 large chips. The lanyard ring has been removed, the ejector rod head is a replacement and the cylinder pin has been drilled. The action is notworking properly and out of time, and also not holding on full cock, the bore is good. .38-40 cal. is somewhat scarce in the 1878 Model. Est.: $700-$1,400

We are open Tuesday thru Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Little John's will be closed the Friday after the auction. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
