Manufactured in 1863. The top of the barrel has the one line New York address, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder. The cylinder is absent of the patent date marking in one of the flutes. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, the wedge is marked "444" and the cylinder and arbor pin are marked "4442". Fitted with a smooth varnished one piece walnut grip.

Condition: Fine as partially refinished (cylinder). The barrel retains 50% original blue finish mixed with smooth plum patina. There are a few minor dings around the wedge and scattered along the barrel. The cylinder retain most of the dark refinished blue finish with areas of smooth gray patina. The frame retain 40% faded original case colors with the balance having a smooth dark patina. The brass has an aged patina with traces of dark original silver plating in protected areas. The grips are good with exception of a large pieced repair on the lower right side and overall a few minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
