Manufactured in 1863. The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA", the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT", and one cylinder flute is marked "PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850". The left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL". The matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, (with an overstamped "S" above or below), with the partial number "9200" on the rear face of the cylinder, cylinder pin and wedge. Brass cone front and hammer notch rear sights; the barrel and cylinder are blue, the frame, loading lever, and hammer casehardened and the trigger guard and back strap silver plated brass. Fitted with a smooth one piece varnished walnut grip. Comes with an iron two cavity bullet mold with "COLT'S/PATENT" marked on the sprue cutter and "36P" on one arm.

Condition: Very good as partially refurbished. The barrel retains 30% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The cylinder retains 40% original blue finish with areas fading to a smooth brown patina. The loading lever has a smooth dark patina and the frame shows strong traces of original case colors in the protected areas around the recoil shields and a smooth brownish patina on the balance. The grip is fine as revarnished. The trigger guard retains 95% replated silver finish which is beginning to darken with age. Most of the loss is on and around the trigger guard bow. The exposed brass has an aged patina. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The mold is good with some thin original finish remaining and showing signs of some cleaning.
