Manufactured in 1862. The top barrel flat is marked with the one line New York U.S. America address, the left side of the frame side is marked "COLTS/PATENT" and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "36 CAL". The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the letter "N". The cylinder has the stagecoach hold-up scene with "COLTS PATENT" above the serial number. Except for the un-numbered loading lever all numbers match. Fitted with a one-piece varnished walnut grip.

Condition: Fine as partially refinished (cylinder and grip). The barrel retains 60% original blue finish with an area of minor pitting and a smooth gray patina on the balance. The cylinder has been refinished and nearly all of scene is visible. The frame has a smooth gray patina. The brass has an aged patina with strong original silver in the protected areas of the trigger guard bow. The grip has been refinished and remains very good with some wear on the lower edges and a few small minor dents on the bottom. Markings are clear. The action is very good.
