Colt Model 1861 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, U.S. military inspected and cartouched, serial number 5156. The revolver shows a gray to brown patina finish with some scattered light to moderate erosion andpinprick pitting and some slightly heavier areas of pitting at the breech and at the end of the barrel and muzzle but nothing serious. The barrel address is light but visible and the patent dates on the frame are good. The cylinder shows 20% to 40% light original cylinder scene. This revolver shows a B&S inspectors stamps and the left side of the grip shows a cartouche that is about 50% visible. The grips are good with some minordings, chips and small losses and just normal wear and aging. All matching visible serial numbers and the front sight has been altered slightly during period of use. There has been some light cleaning long ago. In a serialnumber range that was most likely will shipped to the U.S. naval yard. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
