Colt Model 1861 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, 7 ½” barrel, gray patina finish, wood grips, serial number 6482. The butt is scratched in period letters CB FT. The metal surfaces are somewhat rough and show light to moderate pitting and erosion with some cutting out around the areas of the nipples to change the nipples during period of use and the wedge is also an old replacement. The frame is not well fitted upon the barrel and there is a gap. The pistol shows inspection marks and a faint cartouche on left side of grips and the grips are slightly undersized from wear with small chips at the toes. The action is working and the barrel sight hasbeen slimmed a little. The cylinder shows a faint trace of scene and all matching visible serial numbers. The revolver shows CC & L inspectors marks with S on the trigger guard and martial Navys are scarce in anycondition. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
