Colt Model 1860 fluted cylinder, .44 caliber percussion Army pistol with four screw frame, 8” barrel and full-size Army grips, serial number 621. This Colt has been draw filed and restored. The serial numbers re-stamped. The barrel address and patent markings on the cylinder are mostly visible. The Colt patent marking on the frame is more than half visible. On close examination of this Colt its is evident that the barrel and cylinder were heavily pitted and cleaned down then colored. The frame and hammer were less pitted and more or less left alone and only the front of the frame cleaned and colored to match the barrel. The grips also show some restoration with some wood filler and small losses at the toes and alarge inlay of wood at the front left toe. Several screws have been replaced and the action is not quite working properly. Fluted armies have always been scarce and expensive and this is a genuine example for an entry-level collector or to fill avariation type. Est.: $2750-$5500
