Colt Model 1860 Army fluted cylinder percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, four screw frame, cut for shoulder stock, wood grips, #2717 in overall un-cleaned used but good + condition showingmatching visible numbers, good action, dark patina on metal surfaces, good grips. Per Flayderman’s, an estimated 4,000 fluted cylinder Army’s were produced out of the about 200,000 manufactured between 1860-1873, making them desirable tocollectors in any condition. Sending for a factory letter would be highly recommended for the successful bidder of this lot as occasionally, a “score” will be made when records indicate shipment to either the Richmond, Virginia or NewOrleans, Louisiana Armories, which were taken over by the Confederacy at the beginning of the Civil War and arms in those facilities used by rebel forces.
