Colt Model 1855 full stock Sporting rifle, .56 cal., 31-1/4” barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, sling swivels, iron ramrod, #2172. This gun is in overall very good to near fine condition showing approx. 40% original bluefinish with plum brown patina and scattered spots of erosion and pin prick pitting; very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings and fine wood stocks with some old scattered mars and dings from storage; three positionflip-up rear sight; steel butt plate with brass cleaning rod section; made between 1856 and 1864, only approx. 9,310 of this model were manufactured.
