Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver .36 caliber percussion with small guard, serial number 55447 finely custom engraved by English Master engraver Paul Lun on custom order for one of America’s most recognized Colt collectors as a tribute to the 19th-century master engraver Gustav Young. The pistol shows stunning quality and resembles the Floyd Navy and other high art engraved Colt Navies with masterfully executed Germanic scrolls and hand cut cylinder scene. The Navy is finely blued and case hardened and fitted with burl wood grips. This Colt remains in mint condition since restoration and engraving. This project was accomplished with the assistance of R.L. Wilson who is providing a letter which will be delivered to the successful buyer. We would estimate the cost to recreate this beautiful pistol at above $20,000. Est.: $7,000-$14,000.
