Manufactured in 1853. One line New York City barrel address, "COLTS / PATENT" on left frame side, and the navy scene on the cylinder. Mismatched wedge with remaining visible numbers matching. The number "2" is marked along with the serial number on barrel and cylinder. The underside of the barrel is hand marked "M. M11.2N / O." With a contemporary partitioned case lined in red fabric with the following period accessories: UMC cap tin, single face eagle powder flask, and Colt's patent bullet mold.
BBL: 7 1/2 inch octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 36 percussion
Finish: blue/casehardened/silver
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 30889
Condition: Good as refinished. The revolver has an artificial smooth brown-gray patina with a smooth dark patina on the frame. There is some very scattered pin point pitting. About half of the cylinder scene remains. The brass has a polished appearance with traces of original silver plating on the trigger guard. The grip is very fine with some minor handling marks and a missing minor chip near the bottom. Action needs work as the hammer does not hold at the half cock position and cylinder does not rotate when action is cycled. The modern case is fine and the accessories are very good.
