Colt Model 1849 pocket model .31 caliber percussion with 5” barrel, fully and finely engraved by Gustave Young, showing excellent restoration by Tom Haas Sr., serial number 115931. The pistol is very finely deluxeengraved in the hand of the master himself and the metal has been refreshed and refinished by Tom Haas Sr. for Robert Elz in the 1970s. The cylinder is an excellent replacement. The pistol shows 50% of an agedrefinished that is very difficult to detect. The burl wood grips are original to the period have been lightly refinished and refreshed. Pistol shows a script barrel address (SamL. Colt) and hand cut Coltspatent on frame. A very deluxe and attractive looking pocket model with a pleasing overall look that we have known for more than 40 years and is absolutely original engraving. Matched serial numbers.
