Colt Lightning magazine-fed pump-action carbine, .44-40 caliber, 20” barrel, blue finish, checkered forend, sold and shipped to Wells Fargo & Co, San Francisco, CA, August 19, 1887. 24 guns in shipment with all features confirmed by factory letter, serial #15933. The left bottom of frame is stamped WF & Co and the number “4” is stamped just behind the triggerguard. The carbine shows 50-70% original blue overall, evenly drifting to brown with some light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting and some slightly heavy pitting at the front of the muzzle. The markings are good, the edges fairly crisp, the wood is good to very good. The rampant Colt markings is visible. The carbine shows early safety and triggerguard. All small parts and sights retained, action good, bore very good plus. With factory letter confirming features in shipment. Currently the only known Wells Fargo marked and documented Colt Lightning carbine. Est: $8,000 - $16,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
