Colt First Model .41 Derringer
Manufactured between 1870 and 1890. German silver half-moon front sight and hammer notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. Co. / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." followed by "No1" flanked by Maltese crosses (strong traces remain). Matching serial number on barrel and butt, with a small letter "C" stamped in front of the trigger. The frame has a broad scroll engraving with a checkered spur trigger and hammer. The grip area is iron, with shallow checkering on the sides and deep, sharp checkering on the backstrap.
