Colt Bisley Model Single Action revolver, .45 Colt cal., 4-3/4” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered hard rubber grips, #253944. This gun is accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming features exceptstocks “Not Listed” and indicating it was shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co., Chicago, Illinois on February 10, 1905, five guns in shipment. This gun is in overall good condition showing a dark grey patina onmetal surfaces with some spots of erosion and scattered light to moderate pitting, good bore, good action and markings; grips are worn but overall good with the left grip browning from exposure to the sun. This lotis also accompanied by a hand printed letter from a James A. Crane of Corona del Mar, California indicating this gun “was carried by my paternal grandfather, Jay (Jarvis) Daugherty Crane when he was Sheriff severaltimes of Fall River County, South Dakota, where his office, jail and home was in Hot Springs, South Dakota; He was born 3-29-1864 in Craneville, W. Virginia and he died in Long Beach, Calif. on 3-17-1930”. Noted
