This Colt Bisley Model Single Action Revolver was manufactured in 1903. The revolver has a the Colt commercial blue finish on the barrel, ejector housing, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap. The hammer, frame and loading gate have a color case-hardened finish. The two-piece, black, hard rubber grips are checkered with the Rampant Colt trademark embossed in an oval at the top. The revolver has the distinctive Bisley Model humpback grips with special trigger guard and back strap, 3/16-inch higher frame, curved, wide spur, hammer and wide, curved, trigger. The revolver is one of 3,159 Bisley Models chambered for the .41 Colt cartridge. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG. Co. / HARTFORD. 0CT. U.S.A.." in two lines. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped: "(BISLEY MODEL) 41 COLT.". The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt "Three-Date/Two-Line" patent marking followed by the circled Rampant Colt trademark. The loading gate is stamped with the assembly or bin number "2391". A "W" inspection mark is stamped in the hammer well above the firing pin hole and a "B" is stamped on the front face of the cylinder. The serial number, "239340" is stamped on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. "239340" is etched on the inside of both grips. All of the visible serial numbers match.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 75% of the original blue and 60% case-hardened finish. The barrel has light finish wear at the muzzle and along the side of the ejector housing. The cylinder has light-moderate edge wear and handling marks. The back strap and grip strap have about 75% of the blue finish intact; the balance has faded to a plum-colored patina. The frame retains early 95% of the case-hardened finish with strong case colors. The case colors on the loading gate have started to silver slightly. The hammer has about 85% of the original case colors. The sides of the trigger have most of the niter blue finish intact. The grips are in excellent condition with minimal handling wear. The markings are sharp. The action is tight and functions perfectly. This is a very fine example of a 1903 production Colt Bisley Model Single Action Revolver with in scarce 41 long Colt caliber.
