Colt Bisley .38 W.C.F. SN: 257001
Refinished single action six shot revolver chambered in .38-40 and manufactured in 1904. Features an old renickeled finish(originally blued), 5.5" barrel, blade front sight, v-notch rear sight, bobbed ejector ring, nickel plated steel frame with push button cylinder pin release, nickeled fluted six shot cylinder, wide spur hammer and checkered hard rubber grips with rampant colt decor. All matching serial numbers on frame trigger guard and backstrap. Includes Colt factory letter witch confirms caliber, barrel length and original finish. Also states that this revolver was shipped to Lee, Glass, Andreesen Hardware Co. Omaha, Nebraska August 13th, 1904 in a four gun shipment. Shows good old nickeled refinish with seven notches in the trigger guard under the nickel. Patent marks, barrel address and Colt horse are sharp but "Bisley Model" is very weak. Grips are in good condition with the following inscriptions in the right grip, Lena Rohr Raton NM 1916, Marie Catalina Trinadad Co. 4-7-17, Katie Evans Dawson Al 2-3-18, Gladys Horn Roy NM. Left grip is inscribed with dates and initials, should be further researched. Bore is fair to good with solid action. Condition is very good as refinished. ***Modern Firearm***
