Acquired in 1941, this pistol was one of 500 purchased by the Argentine Naval Commission in order to supplement the Model 1927 45's they were producing domestically. Also, this pistol is equipped with William L. Swartz's firing pin safety, which was patented in 1937 and dropped from production shortly after the war ended. In addition to the standard Colt Government Model markings, this pistol bears the Argentine crest atop the slide, and "REPUBLICA ARGENTINA/ ARMADA NACIONAL - 1941" on the right. Fitted with a short milled trigger, wide hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, serrated slide catch, checkered thumb safety and checkered wood grips. Also included is a brown leather flap holster, ink marked "R.R.D.M." inside the flap.

Condition: Arsenal refinished, with 80% of the blue, showing bright edge wear, areas of mixed gray and brown patina, and a small amount of scratches and spotting. Grips are good, with pressure dents. Holster is fine, with some scuffs and a small amount of verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
