Colt 1878 double-action frontier revolver, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, traces of blue finish, checkered wood grips, serial #39557 with Wells Fargo & Co markings on butt. The pistol shows some wear at the muzzle, lightto moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, and a light to dark grey patina with traces of blue mixed in. The grips are worn and show small losses. The left grip is carved “HF”. The markings are good, action is good, borefair to good. From the Robert Hoelscher Collection. Est: $2,000 - $4,000.
