Colt 1861 Navy revolver, .36 cal. percussion, later scroll engraved, darkened silver plate, ivory grips, serial #5636 The engraving, although hand cut is not genuine to-the-period, and it is our opinion that the engraving is 20th century, although our consigner bought it for original engraving a decade ago. The pistol shows considerable darkened silver plate that has turned black and at least 50% remains, with no recentcleaning, some light to moderate pitting and erosion. The cylinder shows about 75% restored scene; the grips show some large chips and losses and do not fit well and may be from another Colt revolver. The pistol is cased within a relined old correct style box. The quality of the relining is excellent and is hard to detect except the partitions are slightly too thick and not tapered correctly. An excellent and original William Read Boston label is glued into the lid and in fine condition. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
